Lifehive story

Created by father and son Willi and Pascal Brunner, Lifehive was born out of the need to take better care for their own bees from their Switzerland-based family operation with 80 hives. Searching for a non-chemical way of treating Varroa mites, Willi Brunner, a beekeeper with more than 50 years of beekeeping experience, developed the concept of embedding a heating element into the foundations of brood frames to create a «floor-heating» for the bee brood for controlling mite levels. Fast forward 10 years of prototyping, validating and developing, Lifehive is now launching a Kickstarter campaign in March 2025 to present its solution to beekeepers worldwide.
